Steubenville native Donnelly hired for three roles in Mets' organization
Steubenville native Rich Donnelly will be back on a professional diamond soon, hired by the New York Mets organization.
Donnelly will serve as manager of the Mets' Appalachian League affiliate in Kingsport this summer. First, Donnelly will head to Florida soon to serve as the Mets' Major League Spring Training Coordinator and will then run the organization's extended spring training.
This will be Donnelly's 51st year in professional coaching. Last spring, he was on staff for Jim Leyland's World Baseball Classic gold medal winning squad.
It's also his second time working with the Mets' organization. He's served as manager of their minor league affiliate Brooklyn Cylcones.
