West Virginia Northern Community College expanding

West Virginia Northern Community College announced it is expanding its campus in Wheeling by adding a new building.

College officials introduced a new Industrial Technology Center to go in the former WESCO building. The 20,00 sq. ft. center will house welding and petroleum technology programs.

In addition to those programs it will have space for future expansion.

Faculty is excited for the center’s potential.

“It means more opportunities for the people in the community and up and down the Valley to get trained for all of these jobs that we anticipate are coming in the next few years in this area,” said Larry Tackett, Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development.

The building is scheduled to open for the Fall 2018 semester.
