WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling city officials are hoping to see two vacant buildings on Main Street utilized in the near future.
Two developers are putting together proposals for the renovation of 1107 and 1109 Main Street.
The developers have discussed filling the buildings with office, retail, and restaurant areas, and possibly residential spaces on the upper floors.
Nothing is set in stone yet, but Wheeling City Manager Bob Herron said that plans are definitely progressing.
“So, that's an active project. I think that probably within the next 3-4 weeks, that transfer will be presented to city council,” he said.
The transfer would move the properties to the Ohio Valley Area Development Corporation, which is the necessary next step in the process.
