Two of three election recounts completed in Jefferson County

The more things change, the more they stay the same

Two of three election recounts have been completed in Jefferson County.

Election officials re-certified a councilman in Stratton did in fact win by the narrowest of margins. Leon Nelson beat Kelly Householder by one vote.

One vote also separated George Irvin and James Morrocco. Irvin was certified as elected councilman in Mingo Junction. There's one election re-count left.

"Buckeye Local School Board (Saturday). And that is a district-wide recount,” said Diane Gribble, board of elections, Jefferson County. “Ours is tomorrow, Belmont's is Monday and Harrison's is Tuesday."
