Two more alleged drug dealers off the streets of Belmont County

The couple was found with drugs, guns and plenty of ammunition.

An investigation months in the making took two drug dealers off the streets of Belmont County.

The couple was found with drugs, guns and plenty of ammunition.

“As a result of that traffic stop, we recovered a little bit over 3 ounces of crystal meth,” Martins Ferry Police Chief John McFarland said.

That amount of crystal meth has a street value of about $10,000.

Pair that with guns, ammunition and other narcotics -- and you've got a serious arrest.

Police had been investigating Shane Allen Danehart and Sarah Lynn Waryck for a while, and the traffic stop and subsequent house search confirmed a lot of suspicions.

“This was a pretty big case, and they're faced with some pretty big felony charges, so we're glad to get them off the streets of Belmont County and continue with more investigations,” McFarland said.

Among their charges are drug trafficking, possession of drugs, weapons under disability, and endangering children -- as Waryck is pregnant.

Investigators also found out the drugs were coming from out of town.

“Throughout our investigation, we learned that they were bringing the crystal meth in from Zanesville,” McFarland said. “With the evidence that we had, we were able to obtain two search warrants within the city of Zanesville.”

McFarland says this investigation is ongoing, and more arrests may be made.
