Ohio Valley native sings at New Orleans Bowl
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana —
An Ohio Valley native sang the national anthem at the New Orleans Bowl Saturday afternoon.
Gregory Afek got the chance to perform after winning an online contest.
He was born and raised in the Ohio Valley and is a graduate of Weirton Madonna High School.
He's a musician and also is a member of the Coast Guard, serving as an aviation maintenance technician.
He said this moment was very special for him.
"This was certainly a huge opportunity to sing our county's anthem, and I’m just truly grateful and very humbled and glad right now," Afek said.
