Ohio State Highway Patrol hosts annual toy drive
BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —
The Ohio State Highway Patrol St. Clairsville Post is continuing its yearly tradition that first began over a decade ago.
The post is collecting unwrapped, new toys for children spending the holiday at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
“A lot of children from the Ohio Valley seek treatment in Pittsburgh due to the proximity of the hospital to the Valley and the great quality of care that they actually receive,” said OSHP Lieutenant James Faunda. “So, it does affect the Ohio Valley and it's just one more thing we can do to make a child's Christmas brighter."
New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the St. Clairsville or Steubenville Highway Patrol posts through the weekend.
The toys will then be delivered to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where the staff will wrap the gifts and give them to the children on Christmas Day.
