New superintendent for Buckeye Local School District

The Buckeye Local Board of Education has voted to hire Kim Leonard as the new superintendent. The board chose her over current interim superintendent Scott Celestin during the vote held Monday.

Leonard is currently the principal at St. John's School in Bellaire. She previously served as an elementary school teacher for Buckeye Local schools.

Celestin has been serving as interim superintendent since Mark Miller resigned in September of 2016.

This comes after Buckeye Local School District's emergency 4.8 mill levy failed in the May 2 primary election.
