Local schools recognized for 'A' grades

The West Virginia Board of Education and State Department of Education awarded three schools Monday during the Ohio County Board of Education meeting.

Steenrod Elementary School, Bridge Street Middle and Triadelphia Middle School all received an A grade in the accountability system. Ohio County had a very high percentage compared to other schools in the state.

There are 152 middle schools in West Virgnia, but there were only 12 schools that received As.

As far as elementary schools, there were only 21 A grades.

Representatives from each of the schools attended the board meeting to receive plaques.
