Jefferson County Humane Society introduces new animal wellness facility
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio —
Some moves are being made in Jefferson County to benefit both cats and dogs.
The Jefferson County Humane Society held a ribbon cutting in Wintersville to introduce their animal wellness facility Thursday afternoon.
It’s been a project years in the making and will provide low-cost veterinarian services to the public.
Inside the facility are state-of-the-art medical and surgical equipment in order to provide the best care for the county's animals.
“Pet care should not be a luxury, it is a necessity to keep our pets healthy. So, it’s so important to us to be able to offer people all of the same services as a traditional, private vet practice at a lower cost that they can afford,” said Community Outreach Manager Brandi Damewood.
Organizers said the goal is keep healthy pets in happy homes and are accepting volunteers.
