Hefty bond set for two facing robbery charges in Steubenville

Franklin Littlejohn III and Brooke Jones are facing charges of robbery after they allegedly pulled a gun on a Steubenville man and took $68 from him.

Two people are facing hefty bonds after a situation involving a gun in Steubenville.

They were in court for the first time regarding this incident Friday morning.

Franklin Littlejohn III and Brooke Jones are facing charges of robbery after they allegedly pulled a gun on a Steubenville man and took $68 from him.

Littlejohn is facing two felony charges -- aggravated robbery and weapons under disability for having a gun while on parole.

Jones is being charged with complicity to aggravated robbery, along with a probation violation from Harrison County.

Both were in Steubenville Municipal court for arraignments, and their bonds were set at $250,000.

These charges all stem from an incident that took place on Maxwell Avenue on Wednesday.

Police were called for reports of a man pulling a pistol on another man.

Witnesses say Littlejohn and Jones fled when police arrived, but returned to the scene where they were arrested.

Steubenville Police Chief Bill McCafferty says this incident all started over a car repair.

“They spoke to the victim, and he stated that there was a misunderstanding about a repair of a car and Mr. Littlejohn thought he owed him money so he put a gun to his head,” McCafferty said. “Took the money out and Mr. Littlejohn's female companion took the money.”

Chief McCafferty says there were two officers who suffered minor injuries during a struggle that took place while arresting Littlejohn.

Both officers are back to work.

As for Littlejohn and Jones, they are expected back in court for a preliminary hearing next Thursday.
