Bethany players support School of Bright Promise All-Stars

Baseball players are helping a basketball team. On Thursday, Bethany College's baseball team visited the Jefferson County All-Star basketball team at the School of Bright Promise in Steubenville.

The team has helped the All-Stars during their home games by keeping score, refereeing and other jobs throughout the season. During their time volunteering the players have become good friends.

Bethany's players took pictures with the All-Stars and wished them luck in their upcoming basketball playoffs. The players have enjoyed getting to know the All-Stars over the course of the season.

“Excellent basketball players, they understand the game well,” said Kelaen Welch, Bethany College student. “Truthfully, they're more team-based than any other team I have ever seen play at any level."

The All-Stars are undefeated this year. They will begin tournament games on March 3 at Strasburg High School. Bethany's baseball coach says he plans to work with the All-Stars again next season.
