Belmont County couple indicted after nationwide search led to their arrest

Wesley Burdge and Tabitha Gallagher arrive for Grand Jury arraignments. The couple was on the run with children and arrested in November.

A Belmont couple in a child pornography case was arraigned on indictments handed down by a grand jury on Thursday.

The pair fled from authorities with their two children, leading to a nationwide search.

It resulted in their arrest in November in Washington, Pa.

Wesley Burdge is facing four counts of child pornography charges, while Tabitha Gallagher faces one count of obstructing justice.

Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Flanagan says there are so many computer files investigators have to sift through, it's not clear if there will be any new charges filed in this case.

However, there are still many questions, with one pertaining to Gallagher's involvement.

"We do believe she is the one that after law enforcement was looking for her husband, she actually took her husband and children to a hotel room in another state and hid out, and that's one of the reasons why law enforcement was not able to find him immediately."

Burdge will remain in the Belmont County Jail on a $500,000 bond, while Gallagher is on a $25,000 bond.

The couple fled from their home in Flushing in October, after police showed up to investigate a roommate, John Garwon, who is in jail on child pornography charges.

Flanagan is preparing all of these cases for trial on the current charges.

"The investigation is open, I will tell you that,” Flanagan said. “If our investigators present us with other information, we will take the case back to the grand jury."

Both Burdge and Gallagher are set for trial in February, while Garwon is on the docket in March.

The children are reportedly doing well in foster care.
