HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. — The Hancock County Commissioners named Joe Barnabei president of the commission for 2019 during their meeting Thursday afternoon.
Next week, the commissioners will travel to Charleston for a meeting, with the Rt. 2 project in New Cumberland set to be one of the main topics on the agenda.
"Monday, we will be in Charleston for a County Commissioners Association meeting and seminar. We have a meeting set up, and the Rt. 2 bypass coming through New Cumberland is an important issue that is on the table for development in the northern end of the county,” said Commissioner Joe Barnabei.
Barnabei also said they have an ongoing project to bring water into the lower end of Mountaineer Park and down Rt. 2. That project is expected to be completed within the next 2 years.
