Altercation in Follansbee leaves two hospitalized

FOLLANSBEE, WV-- A confrontation between two men on Friday night landed both in area hospitals and has sparked an ongoing investigation.

Follansbee police were called to 1060 Neville Street in Follansbee around 6:20 p.m. on Friday night. Sergeant Rick Reinard with the Follansbee police said there has been an ongoing dispute between the two men.

According to Reinard, one man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital with six stab wounds, including four wounds to the torso, one to the neck, and one to the face. The other individual was transported to Weirton Medical Center by ambulance for head injuries, a cut on the hand, and a cut on the leg.

Reinard says that the one individual fled the scene in his own vehicle, which led to a pursuit on US 22. The chase ended at a local hospital.

"This is still under investigation to figure out how the knife got involved in this," said Reinard.
