4th annual Night to Shine celebrated in Moundsville

The 4th annual "Night to Shine" was held in Moundsville at the former state penitentiary Friday night.

The event is a prom for special needs teenagers and adults. Guests enjoy dinner, dancing, games, a walk on the red carpet and more. It's sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and hosted by Bowman United Methodist Church.

More than 175 guests attended, and more than 300 local volunteers helped make the event possible.

"We wait all year for this event,” said event coordinator Kristi Crawford. “It's something where we get to show God's love to those with special needs, and to get other people out volunteering. Also, to celebrate them for their night and give them the royal treatment."

"It's pretty amazing to see everybody come together and make smiles happen here," said volunteer Collin Lewis.

Organizers hope to have the event again next year.
