16th Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting takes place in Moundsville

With the snow falling, it feels like Christmas time in the Ohio Valley.

Folks in Moundsville are really feeling the Christmas spirit, as the 16th Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting took place outside of the Gold, Khoury and Turak offices on Thursday evening.

Santa arrived late Thursday afternoon on a Moundsville fire truck. Spike from the Wheeling Nailers was also in attendance.

A bunch of carolers got people in the spirit, and plenty of cookies and hot chocolate was on hand for anyone who wanted it.

One big difference this year, though, is a special plaque was made and placed on the tree for late fire chief Noel Clarke.

They spent time setting it up earlier Thursday afternoon and wanted to do something special for the man who served the Moundsville community for so long.
