Stephanie Allison joined the SEVERE WEATHER TEAM 9 in March 2016.
Before joining News9, Stephanie was a freelance meteorologist for WTOV's sister station WJAC-TV in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Prior to moving back to the Pittsburgh area in 2014, Stephanie worked for WMDT-TV 47 News/Delmarva's CW3 in Salisbury, Maryland as the weekday meteorologist for the 6 PM, 10PM & 11PM newscasts. Stephanie was the recipient of the AP Award for Outstanding Weathercasts in 2011, 2012, and 2013. She was also ranked #1 meteorologist on the Eastern Shore according to Salisbury University in 2011. Stephanie served as the on-call Meteorologist for ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2010 and 2011, where she was featured in an episode during Hurricane Irene in 2011.
Stephanie began her career working for Herald Standard Television (HSTV) in Uniontown, Pennsylvania as the chief meteorologist in 2006. Not only did Stephanie forecast the weather each day, but she also served as the host for HSTV's Sunday Movie Classics, a sideline reporter for the Pittsburgh RiverRats, and moderated local political debates.
Born and raised in southwestern Pennsylvania, Stephanie attended California University of Pennsylvania where she earned her BS in Broadcast Meteorology. During her time in college, Stephanie was an intern at WTAE-TV during the morning shows in the summer of 2005. She won the California University of Pennsylvania Television Award for Best On-Air Meteorologist in 2005-2006.
While not at work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and their son, Mason. She loves all Pittsburgh sports.
Stephanie's father played football for the University of Pittsburgh during their time as National Champions in 1976, so cheering for Pittsburgh is in her DNA!
