The victim of a Wheeling Island murder in May identified his alleged shooter before he died.

The victim, Ahmid Hinton, identified Deandre Davis as the shooter, but, on Wednesday, a magistrate found probable cause against Jordan Davis.

"When he was laying on the sidewalk, he stated to officers, his brother that D.D. Had done it,” Wheeling Police Detective Matt Taylor said.

D.D. is known as Deandre Davis, and those were the last words from a dying man.

Davis is wanted by Wheeling Police. On Wednesday, Jordan Davis was in Ohio County Magistrate Court for the first time, trying to fight a murder charge.

His attorney says he wasn't the killer, but detectives say Jordan Davis' clothing matches up to one of the people that fired shots on May 9 on S. Penn Street.

Video footage captured some of it. Jordan Davis confirmed he was the person in photos and videos.

The incident took place because of a family quarrel between the Hinton brothers and the Davis brothers, and involved another family member.

Police still waiting for evidence to return from the crime lab, but prosecutors have charged both Jordan and Deandre Davis with murder.

Jordan Davis is in the Northern Regional Jail.
