The union workers at Gradall in New Philadelphia went on strike at midnight on Monday because of failed contract negotiations, and now they're picketing.

Nearly 200 workers of Local 1285 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers went on strike and began picketing after rejecting a medical plan from the company.

The company says its offered plan has been in place since August 2016 and is in accordance with the last two bargained contracts.

Negotiations are expected to resume on Wednesday.

The company is owned by Alamo Group Inc., which is headquartered in Seguin, Texas.
