The annual Tie One On For Safety campaign is in full force at Wheeling Park High School.

Member of the SADD Club, Impact Group, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving tied red ribbons on cars at the high school on Wednesday morning.

Prom is scheduled for Saturday in Wheeling and students and teachers say it's a good reminder for drivers to stay safe and make better choices.

“It's all of us,” student Samantha Force said. “We are against substance abuse, drinking after prom, or really ever, and we are promoting the message and we care so much about it.”

"I think every one of us has been impacted by someone with a drug or alcohol problem, and we have also seen children lose their lives over it,” said Sharon Jebbia, advisor SADD Club. “These kids, I have to give them kudos because they stand up for something not popular.”

The red ribbons will be displayed on cars all weekend. Drivers are reminded to be careful.

Don't drink and drive and don't text and drive.
