Third time not a charm for duo shoplifting from Walmart

Jo Lynn Robson and Raymond Baker were arrested for breaking and entering and conspiracy.

Not once, not twice, but three times.

Police say that's how many times a Moundsville couple stole from the Moundsville Walmart store – all in the same night.

Moundsville police say the duo seemingly proved that "three times is not a charm," because they were caught red-handed.

"Around 10:45, a man and female came to the Walmart store, and he loaded a TV into his cart and (was) pushing it out the door,” Moundsville Police Sgt. Don Dewitt said.

It was one he had not paid for. But that's not the end of the story. The couple came back 4 hours later.

"Him and his female companion came in, and again pushed it out the door with some other items,” Dewitt said.

The duo then again returned to the store about 2 hours later. This time police were onto their scam and they were caught.

Dewitt says Jo Lynn Robson and Raymond Baker were arrested for breaking and entering and conspiracy.

However, Dewitt says police are at Walmart almost every day -- sometimes several times -- a day for this same type of crime.

"I believe there are several reasons it's happening,” Dewitt said. “A lack of employment, drugs, and three, it's an easy crime since they have done away with greeters here and the electronic section is open and easy place to grab items."

Baker and Robson are both in the Northern Regional Jail.
