Switch flipped on Festival of Lights for 30th time

WHEELING, W.Va. - Several new displays were added in 2-015-16 to commemorate 30 years of the Festival of Lights at Oglebay Park.

They, along with many mainstays, were turned on during a ceremony around 6:15 p.m. Thursday, followed by a fireworks display.

This year, new RGB Technology, which actually means red, green, blue and can produce 16 million different colors, will be displayed in a 6-foot animated tree near the lodge.

Also another new penguin is on display by Schenk lake, created by two Ohio County students. This was through a poster contest.

Some other new things you'll want to check out -- a new coffee shop with baked goods in Wilson Lodge, and the Christmas Shop is now at the former Oglebay Guest House next to the museum...
