Seventh annual Ho Ho Hope for a Cure coming to Wheeling
It's almost time for Santa Claus to visit Wheeling this year - and for a special cause.
The seventh annual Ho Ho Hope for a Cure will be on Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at River City in Wheeling.
This fundraiser will feature crafts, a photo booth and a special visit and picture with Santa.
The event was created by E.J. and Lorri Schodzinski after their daughter was diagnosed with type one diabetes at a young age.
"It's a tough illness for kids,” E.J. said. “They have to take insulin injections or shots any time they have a meal. They have to check their blood sugar throughout the day. It's a tough illness."
The cost is $10 for each family's first child, and then $2 for each additional child. The money raised benefits juvenile diabetes research.
