The men and women at The Ville donated money on several ‘dress down days,’ collecting $600 to donate to A Caring Place, a child advocacy center in Wintersville.

A Caring Place provides a safe, child-friendly environment for kids who are survivors of physical and sexual abuse. The facility offers a place to interview the kids and give medical examinations.

“This allows the victim to come into a home that's more nurturing for them, and it brings the resources to them, so they're not going out to the police station, going here, going here, and it helps get better results,” said Amy McDonnell, board member, A Caring Place.

A Caring Place is also promoting its annual fundraising dinner, which will take place Saturday, April 14, at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

This year's speaker is Derek Clark, a child abuse survivor and viral motivational speaker known as "Rapping Dad."
