Police investigating early morning gas station robbery in Warwood

The Wheeling Police Department is investigating an early morning robbery at a gas station in Warwood. It's the third different Marathon gas station in the Ohio County to be hit within the last month.

The Wheeling Police Department is investigating an early morning robbery at a gas station in Warwood. It's the third different Marathon gas station in the Ohio County to be hit within the last month.

It happened around 3:10 a.m., at the Marathon at 2110 Warwood Avenue by Cherry Hill Road.

The clerk told officers that the robber walked in, demanded money, took an unknown amount from the register and then fled on foot toward the Heritage Walking Trail from N. 21st Street.

The clerk described the suspect at as white male, skinny build with blonde hair, wearing a hoodie. No weapon was displayed.

Of the other two incidents, the first was on Nov. 15 in Woodsdale and the second on Nov. 17 on River Road.

"At this point, we don't believe they are not connected, but further investigation could prove otherwise,” said Philip Stahl, public information officer, Wheeling Police Department.
