A Harrison County business known for its enormous peaches and local products is celebrating a milestone.

The farm market at Packer’s Orchard turns 100 this summer.

Located along U.S. 250 outside of Harrisville, the produce and products are all fresh and local.

“It's delicious,” customer Alexya Skibo said. “Everything here is delicious and local right off the trees.”

The farm has been in the Packer family since 1824. And customers have been enjoying the market since 1917.

“Their produce, and their stuff is, I can't say too much about it, how good it is, because everybody will want it and I won't get no more,” customer Jake Kafana said.

Bill and Marty Packer are the third generation to run the business.

And the market is one all generations can appreciate.

“I think it's really cool to know that something small town little business has been going on for this long and that we draw such a big crowd to such a little place,” employee Sydney Burkle said.

“They open up Saturday and Sunday morning and you see this beautiful produce and fruit and the whole works, and you don't realize all the work that goes into that throughout the entire week,” customer Rob Whinnery said.

After 100 years, the family has perfected a simple business strategy that remains timeless.

“We are friendly to them we talk to them when they get here we give them a fresh locally grown products and they all like that,” Bill Packer said.

“We just love our customers,” Marty said. “They’re so loyal to us and we want to give them the best that we can get them.”
