Man finds how risky it is to sell drugs 2 minutes from the Weirton Police Station

A man pleaded guilty Wednesday, months after a drug bust that took place 2 minutes away from the Weirton Police Station.

Aaron Kelley, 38, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent deliver after a raid along West Street in May.

The Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force bought heroin from Kelley's co-defendant, and then returned to find Kelley hiding in the home.

“When they encountered him, they found he was in possession of heroin packaged for delivery, and on his person, he also had $75 of recorded buy money,” Hancock County Prosecutor James Davis said.

Kelley will be sentenced at a later date.

The maximum penalty is 2-to-30 years in prison.
