Former NFL player speaks at Chamber annual dinner
MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. —
Thursday night the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner.
Leaders from around the county gathered at the former West Virginia Penitentiary for dinner and discussion.
This year's keynote speaker was Oliver Luck, a former WVU and NFL quarterback.
Luck says the Ohio Valley has seen changes but continues with a hard-working attitude, much like what is taught in sports.
"Given the changes that this area has seen, the Ohio Valley, the northern panhandle, and not just in this state, but in Ohio, my home state, and Pennsylvania,” said Luck. “I think we can learn perseverance, tenacity, and the certain attitude of 'don't give up.'"
Community leaders and businesses were also recognized for their success and contributions to the county.
