Cinderella Project offers free prom dresses
MARSHALL COUNTY, W. Va. —
Girls who are going to prom in Marshall County have the chance to get their dress for free.
The Ladies League of Marshall County is hosting the Cinderella Project on Saturday, February 24th. Prom-bound girls can come to Calvary United Methodist Church in Moundsville for a day of dress shopping, without the price tag.
New and gently used gowns, shoes, jewelry and evening bags will be available. They are giving away bags to the first fifty girls. There will also be door prizes for up-do's, manicures, pedicures and free make up offers. Organizers say it’s for everyone, regardless of income.
"We want people to understand that this is for every girl in Marshall County going to the prom. It's going to be a fun event. We would like for them to come and shop and enjoy themselves, and just have a great day,” Jody Hardman, chairperson of the Cinderella Project said.
The dresses have been donated by several bridal stores and clothing companies.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 24th.
