UPDATE: Police investigating armed robbery at gas station
BRILLIANT, Ohio —
An armed robbery at the Ruff Creek Market in Brilliant is under investigation.
It happened around 4:30 a.m., on Wednesday – a half an hour before the gas station was to open.
According to police, an employee was approached at the drive-through window on the left side of the building by a man carrying a pistol.
The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage. They say it was a white male dressed in a black leather jacket and a mirrored motorcycle helmet. He took off on foot up the hill on Tidd-Dale Road. Some evidence was recovered.
"If we can find out which way he went, if he's on a motorcycle, or in a car, or in one of the houses, so there are several cameras at the Cardinal Plant that we're going to check on see if we can get any footage," Wells Township Police Chief John Ingram said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating, along with the Wells Township and Mingo Junction police departments.
