Steubenville Big Red students raised awareness and helped fight cancer with a fundraising march from the high school to the public library on Friday morning.

The Rotary Interact Club at the school led the march, which brought in just over $4,000 that will be donated to the Relay for Life.

“Everyone is really excited,” Big Red Rotary Club President Lauren Farrell said. “We're walking today to raise money for cancer research, we're just having a good time.”

“It's real important to get out and help the community raise money for a good cause,” Johnny Agresta, rotary club member.

"Every single dollar goes to cancer research and everybody was excited to fight the disease,” said Scott Lane, rotary club advisor. “It's important to us because every single person we know, everybody you know in some way has been affected by cancer, and to try and give back to try and fight that disease is something that's very important to all of us."
