A Special Wish Foundation hosts this year’s first fundraising event
BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —
The Ohio Valley Chapter of A Special Wish Foundation hosted its first fundraising event of the year.
A Special Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening disorders. The event took place at the St. Clairsville rec center, where several local businesses donated their time to making it a success.
Chapz Bar and Grill, Premier Jewelry and more gathered inside, along with some wish families, including the mother of a three-year-old boy with hemophilia who A Special Wish is helping.
"Jackson, with having hemophilia, can't play contact sports, so one thing that he can do is swimming which he absolutely loves, so one of his wishes was for a swimming pool so right now we're in the process of getting a swimming pool at home," says Kelly Baker of Colerain, Ohio.
"We're granting some really big wishes this year and we want to continue to grant those wishes," says Executive Director of A Special Wish Foundation Alicia Freeman.
A Special Wish is always looking for volunteers.
