2-time Super Bowl champ tells Buckeye Local students to determine their own success

Lee Rouson shared a message about encouraging positive choices and determining your own success.

A two-time Super Bowl champion made his way to the Buckeye Local High School on Wednesday morning to spread a message of hope.

Lee Rouson shared his life story from growing up in North Carolina all the way to his successful career, highlighted by playing in two Super Bowls with the New York Giants.

He shared a message about encouraging positive choices and determining your own success.

“I was part of a team,” he said. “We had a super goal. I was fortunate to win the Super Bowl twice, to reach that super goal two times, and it's important for the community, especially the future of this country, and this world, to operate their lives that way as well, to be a part of a family, team, to dream, to have the right appetites for success,” he said.

Rouson's motto is "You're not born a winner. You're not born a loser. You're born a chooser."

He is one of many sports world pro speakers who all speak directly about life issues relevant to students.

Rouson, who also played for the Cleveland Browns, made the appearance on behalf of Sports World Inc. The event was sponsored by the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.
