Tyler Co. Att. Murder trial continued

TYLER COUNTY, W.Va.—

Trail for Howard Paul Shriver has been continued by Judge Mark Karl after Shriver decided to hire a new attorney in his case.

Shriver is accused of trying to shoot his estranged wife and injure his children in an incident in Oct. 2012.

Shriver cut electricity to the house and broke the door down with an ax.

He was arrested and charged with attempted murder, attempted malicious wounding, battery, burglary, violation of a protection order, 2 counts of retaliation against a witness, unlawful restraint, 2 counts of domestic assault, destruction of property and domestic assault.

A hearing has been scheduled in the case for mid-October.
