UHRICHSVILLE, Ohio -- City police are investigating a robbery that occurred Thursday morning at the Short Stop Drive Thru on N. Dawson Street.

According to Police Chief Vince Beal, no one has yet been arrested in the incident.

Sergeant Doug Hines reported that at about 7:35 a.m., police were summoned to the business on a report of a possible robbery and upon arrival, were advised by an employee that a man of medium build, about 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, and wearing a dark hoodie, a ball cap, and blue jeans, and with his face covered with a make-shift mask that had eye holes, had entered the store.

The clerk said she asked him what he wanted and he replied, “I’m here to rob you.”

She said the suspect then lifted the hoodie to reveal what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol in his waist band.

The suspect asked her for all her money.

Hines said the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash through an east side exit.

The suspect was last seen walking on E. Fourth Street and may have entered the village of Dennison.

Uhrichsville Canine Officer Mike Hickman was called in with his dog to search the area.

An apartment complex at 15 Grant Street, Dennison, was also briefly checked out after the police canine tracked a scent there.

Beal said the investigation is continuing, and asks that anyone with information call police at 740-922-4783.
