Officials investigate case of shots fired

Updated: Wednesday, June 18 2014, 05:21 AM EDT

WHEELING, W.V.—Police  requested the public's help  to find the person or  persons responsible for firing a gun several times in East Wheeling Tuesday morning.

Police say they found several shell casing behind the American Legion on 15th and Jacob Street.

Officers say they believe three black men were involved in the fight that led to the shots.
No one was injured, but several units responded.
Officers are retrieving video of the area and asking witnesses to come forward.

Police did make an arrest involving a possession of drug charge, but say they don't believe it's related.
Meanwhile, the bar owner says legion customers were not involved in that altercation.

“We’re asking citizens in the area who may have info to please contact police, get these weapons off the street and make that area a little safer” Deputy Chief Martin Kimball with the Wheeling Police Department says.

If you have any information, you’re asked to contact law enforcement or our anonymous Crimebuster Tipline at 1-800-862-BUST.
