A Pennsylvania man is facing serious charges after he allegedly tried to flee from police with two small children in the car.

Mario Matos-Delaroche, 24, of Monroeville, Pa., was arraigned via video conference in front of Magistrate Joe Roxby Monday morning. Matos-Delaroche is facing a felony charge of fleeing with reckless indifference and two counts of child endangerment.

According to the criminal complaint, around 1 a.m. Monday, Matos-Delaroche was driving along I-70 when a Wheeling police officer witnessed him traveling 74 mph in a 45 mph zone.

When the officer attempted to pull the suspect over for speeding, Delaroche allegedly abruptly pulled across two lanes and got off at the Olgelby Exit.

According to the criminal complaint, the driver then turned off his lights and pulled into the Kroger parking lot along Mount Dechantel Road before police caught up and arrested him.

Police found a three-year-old and a 5-month-old sitting in chair seats in the back seat of Matos-Delaroche's vehicle.

Matos-Delaroche is in the Northern Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
