JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio -  Victor Lytle Jr. pleaded guilty of felony assault after admitting he spit at and kicked a police officer while in the Jefferson County Jail.
Lytle was charged with a felony for assault on a police officer and two counts of resisting arrest. In June, he was one of two men arrested following a fight at the Heritage Place Apartments in Steubenville.
On Tuesday, his defense attorney said her client was acting "out of character."
Both sides recommended a sentence of 60 days in jail and 6 months in the Eastern Ohio Correction Center.
The judge requested a pre-sentencing investigation and an evaluation from EOCC before handing down his punishment.
