Gas prices take a dip

Updated: Monday, July 7 2014, 10:18 AM EDT

Drivers were surprised to see low gas prices for the Fourth of July holiday.

Prices in Steubenville were around $3.50 a gallon, lower than prices Memorial Day weekend.

Some Steubenville residents who say they expected some pain at the pump were surprised to see a huge dip in prices.

"They were higher on memorial weekend, so I really think that gas prices are lower on the Fourth of July weekend, and I'm very glad that they are lower," said Terrance Elder.

Gas prices in West Virginia however were a few cents higher around $3.70 a gallon.
