JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio--

Authorities made an arrest in connection to a violent home invasion from April in Cross Creek Township.

U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force arrested Doren Thomas in connection to an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Cross Creek Township Police Department.

Thomas was wanted for aggravated burglary and robbery in connection to a violent home invasion along Morningside Drive in which four men entered a home and allegedly threw an elderly couple to the ground.

Since the incident, police have been talking to witnesses and working with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Jefferson County prosecutor’s office to obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Police reached out to U.S. Marshals on June 13, and on June 19 an arrest was made in Manassas, Virginia.

“The suspect in this case was out of our reach, and I attempted and to get ahold of the U.S. Marshals Service, without their assistance, this guy could have been out there for a while without us being able to get in touch with him,” Cross Creek Township Police Chief Mike Maguschak said.

Thomas was transported to the Prince William County Detention Center, where he awaits extradition back to Jefferson County.

Meanwhile, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office, Wintersville Police Department and Weirton Police Department are continuing to assist Cross Creek in the investigation.

Maguschak said it’s only a matter of time before three other accomplices are arrested.
