Ohio schools allowed to stock Epi-Pens

Updated: Tuesday, July 15 2014, 01:36 PM EDT

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio -- Ohio State Law makers have passed a bill that allows schools, camps and athletic programs to stock Epi-Pens.
With the growing health risk of food allergies, several people are backing a National Campaign to stock Epipens in schools nationwide.
Dr. Kevin Kelly at the Weirton Medical Center said severe allergies are most common in children than adults.
A school nurse at Indian Creek School district said there could be allergic reactions that students are not aware of that can come on really quickly and can cause a reaction, that’s why it’s important to have the pens in the school so they can be administered right away.
Administering the pen is easy and quick and can be done in two simple steps.
