JEFFERSON COUNTY – Friends and colleagues remember Wells Academy Principal Margie Radakovich as a wonderful person and tremendous leader.

Margie Radakovich, who died of a heart attack Wednesday, was remembered for her ability to instill love, cooperation and happiness not only with the students but with the staff that worked with her. She was the type of person, they said, that could make you feel better when you were having a bad day.

Radakovich was a 37-year veteran teacher and administrator. During her career, she served as a reading and math teacher at Harding Middle School, Dean of Girls, Principal of McKinley, Roosevelt, East Garfield, and Wells Academy.

Radakovich most recently served as a Success For All Coach for the district and was instrumental in implementing the SFA program in the Steubenville City Schools.

During the years, Radakovich served more than 7,500 students. At a Steubenville City School Board Meeting Wednesday, the Board showed a National film featuring the Wells Academy Preschool and Radakovich’s love of children and the learning process.
