Dogs seized from home

Updated: Wednesday, February 12 2014, 06:21 PM EST

HARRISON COUNY, Ohio –

More than 60 dogs have been seized from a home along Mill Rd. in Jewett in Harrison County.

The county dog warden had received several complaints about the living conditions of the dogs on the property.

The dogs were taken to no-kill shelters and will be up for adoption.

Property owner Charles Hoobler says he operates a rescue shelter and looks to find new homes for the animals. Authorities say he was cooperative and even helped with some of the more aggressive dogs.

“I’m glad for all of the help from the Humane Society, both local and state,” Harrison County Dog Warden John Birney said. “Hopefully we can find good homes for these dogs and get them taken care of.”
