The Harrison County Courthouse will be getting some much-needed repairs in the near future.

Commissioner Don Bethel said years of neglect have led to problems with the roof of the building. New money earned from the oil and gas industry among other new revenue will pay for the repairs.

“We have finally been blessed with some revenue that we’ll be able to afford fixing the courthouse so we don’t have to continually maintain some rain and water related issues,” Bethel said.

Bethel said the project will cost about $500,000 and will take two years to complete.

Repairs to the sidewalks outside the courthouse will also be made.
