One local organization is looking to help veterans with post traumatic stress disorder by providing trained service dogs for support.

Some programs offer service dogs anywhere from $5,000 to $30,000. But the people at Ohio Valley K-9 LLC do it with no cost becuase they feel that veterans are so deserving.

Sheila Slezak, the owner of Ohio Valley K-9 LLC in Harrison County, wanted to give back to veterans in need.

She is providing trained service dogs to men and women who have post traumatic stress disorder.

On Saturday she paired her first Army veteran and german shepard.

This match was just one of the many she has been asked about in just two weeks of the program.

Trevor Armstrong who has PTSD and also a traumatic brain injury made quick friends with his new dog.
