Ohio man has court date over pizza driver's death

Updated: Thursday, January 2 2014, 03:40 AM EST

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AP) – A Guernsey County man accused of killing a pizza delivery driver is scheduled for a court hearing.

A judge set bond at $1 million for Adam Charles Burris at his video arraignment Monday in municipal court in Cambridge. The hearing was continued until Thursday so that the 32-year-old Burris could talk with an attorney. None appeared for him at the arraignment.

Burris is charged with murder in the slaying of 26-year-old Kayla Thompson. Authorities in Guernsey County say she didn't return from a delivery to Burris' home last Thursday.

The sheriff says Burris was taken into custody and led authorities to Thompson's body near a boat ramp at Dillon State Park in neighboring Muskingum County.
