BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio - The St. Clairsville Police Department is investigating a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian. According to witnesses, it happened along Main Street in St. Clairsville just before 7:30 on Monday night.
A 45-year-old woman stopped to talk to one of her friends while waiting to pick up her kids from a local Karate class when a truck struck her with its right mirror, slowed down and then continued driving westbound.
"We do have some video, but it's not where we can see where it was a male driver or female driver or how old the vehicle exactly is," Chief Jeff Henry of the St. Clairsville Police Department said.
Henry says it was a dark, possibly blue, 1- ton flatbed truck traveling westbound. Mihalic was transported to Ohio Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman told NEWS9 she has some bruising but no broken bones as a result of the incident.
Her jeep was still parked in the same spot Tuesday afternoon.
"It's very dangerous," Henry said. "That's what they have the sidewalks for. Definitely talk to the person from the sidewalk, not from the roadside."
Henry said they have about two hit-and-run accidents in town a year but usually the driver stops whether it is their fault, or not.
