CARROLL COUNTY, Ohio

Thursday afternoon, the defense and prosecution met for the pretrial hearing of 43-year-old James Woodward of Carrollton.   Woodward faces 11 felony counts of possessing, taking and even sending images of child pornography.

NEWS9 spoke to a mother of one of the alleged victims Thursday.  She said authorities told her that a photo was taken of her son when he was only 4 years old.

“There was so many emotions flooding, that I didn’t know what to do.  I was mad, upset, freaked out and just stressed,” she said.

Authorities say Woodward's phone was turned over to the Carroll County Sheriff's Department in late July, and he was arrested in August.

Woodward was indicted on Sept. 4, and Thursday afternoon an investigation report was handed over to the defense.  The defense will have time to review the materials, before another pretrail hearing next Thursday.

Authorities working the case, say more than 100 images of pornography were found on Woodward’s cellphone, 9 of which were images of children.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department said that Woodward confessed to having and even sharing some of the images.

The alleged victim’s mother said she hopes that justice is served, and Woodward receives the maximum sentence.

“He's not only a danger to my kids, he's a danger to every child that he could run into in the community,” the mother said.

Woodward remains in the Carroll County Jail on $100,000 bond.  The prosecution said the case could go to trial by December.
