Follansbee, WV

Four hand guns were stolen from a pawn shop in Follansbee Wednesday night. Police say it happened around 9:30 at The Follansbee Pawn Shop.

Police say a man pried open a door then smashed through the weapons case. The man may be connected to a number of other incidents in Follansbee.

“Video surveillance shows inside a tall man wearing a light colored jacket over what appears to be a gray hoodie break a window out of the inner door with a pair of channel locks. He went straight for the gun display case,” Follansbee Police Captain Dave Parker said.

Police say the man is tall and likely in his twenties. He made off with four semi-automatic handguns. He stuffed all four in his jacket before leaving the scene.

The channel locks used to break into the store were recovered as evidence. Police say break-ins like these have been happening over the last several weeks.

“We’ve had a rash of these over the last couple of weeks - burglaries, breaking and enterings, cars have been broken into,” Parker said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them or the Crimebusters Tipline at 1-800-862-BUST.
